Lee Heedon's solo exhibition features more than 20 major series and new works by the artist who is representative of the second wave of Dansekhwa artists. He attracted attention when all his works were sold out at the 2022 Seonggok Museum of Art Invitational Exhibition and the 2023 World Art Dubai 2023.

After interacting with Jeong Jung-Ik, a first-generation Korean abstract artist, and Jung Chang-Seop, a representative artist of the Dansaekhwa movement, he has continued to be the most outstanding artist of the next generation of the tradition.

At the root of his practice is the idea of cause and effect. The complex structure of intertwining and stacking paints on the canvas visualizes the process of communication, and the colors and textures formed through repetition show how individual emotions and thoughts are connected to the world. Through this, the artist explores the relationship between humans and the universe.

Kim Sio follows on a similar note and examines perception as the act of building the world. This echoes the Buddhist understanding that objective reality does not exist but the experience of consciousness, the stream of conscious experiences is real.

And lastly, Kim Min-Ju's "The Brilliant Days" asks us to focus on those moments in life when it feels perfect and complete. Serenity, calm and peace are her key words. Her practice is a reminder that we can help ourselves by choosing what to focus on and emphasizing our beautiful experiences is a simple way to improve our daily lives. Here, one can detect Buddhist themes too. Inner stillness, light and serenity are key milestones on the path to Nirvana.
